Studying in the United States alone at the age of 14, graduating from a prestigious art college
After returning to Korea, build up various careers such as assistant directing and modeling
“I want to be a writer, exhibition planning, and actress dream… I want to become a wonderful woman”
Choi Seo-eun (26, Seoul, U.S. Pratt Institute of Fine Arts and Painting Department), who was selected as Miss Korea 2021 Jin, went to study in the United States alone at the age of 14. The girl, who bravely pursued her dream while staying at home, received a scholarship and entered Pratt Institute, a prestigious private art college in New York. After graduating, he returned to Korea and chose Miss Korea as a window to release his overflowing energy. Choi, who won the hearts of the judges with her bold and cheerful charm, was crowned the biggest in this year’s competition.
On the afternoon of the 16th, at the Miss Korea 2021 pageant held at Hwayudang Studio in Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do, Choi was very surprised when she was called as the 65th runner-up in history. Choi, who did not expect the moment of glory at all, said, “I thought it would be no wonder whoever was elected because all of the candidates had exceptional talent and personality. I want to support (colleagues) that there will be many more shining days.”
As the tournament was held behind closed doors to prevent the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), even the family was not aware of the results. Choi said, “I called my mother and said, ‘Something happened. I became Jin.’ My parents were so happy. On stage, I couldn’t cry because I was embarrassed, but my parents shed the tears I couldn’t.” expressed
Choi was educated in the United States, but wanted to live in Korea after graduation. He said, “I got a lot of compliments when I was directing a documentary because I have good eyes,” he said.
Choi sang and rapping for the girl group BLACKPINK during her PR screening. He also opened the story by telling his own story. In the intelligence screening, he calmly revealed his thoughts on the #MeToo movement, drawing attention. Choi recalled, “It’s something that happens a lot in the United States, and it’s something that is constantly being talked about among the younger generation, so I’ve been thinking a lot too.
Choi, who wants to grow into a ‘cool woman’ through Miss Korea activities, said, “I majored in fine art and minored in art history. I also want to work as an artist, and I also want to organize exhibitions online and show them.” said Also, “I am interested in acting, so I want to work as an actress.” “If there is an opportunity, I want to enter Hollywood. So, it is my dream to introduce the charm of Miss Korea to the world.”
