Foreign Minister Chung Eui-yong held a meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blincoln in Rome, Italy on the 31st (local time) and said, “We had serious discussions about the early restart of the peace process on the Korean Peninsula, including a declaration of an end to the Korean War,” the Blue House said.
Minister Jeong, who is serving as President Moon Jae-in, who is attending the G20 summit, held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs Blincoln on the same day. At the meeting, the two ministers exchanged views as they shared the importance of stable management of the situation on the Korean Peninsula, the Blue House reported.
In addition, the Blue House stressed that “the strong ROK-U.S. alliance is developing into a comprehensive global alliance for resolving global issues such as supply chains and response to COVID-19 beyond regional cooperation in Northeast Asia and the Indo-Pacific region,” the Blue House said.
He continued, “We appreciate that the two countries have been actively communicating at various levels on various occasions, such as holding foreign ministerial meetings at the G20 summit following the UN General Assembly in September and the OECD Ministerial Board in October. We decided to keep going,” he said.
