Chuwi MiniBook X claims the world’s first open-hole screen laptop

Last year, Apple introduced the iPhone’s bangs screen design to the MacBook Pro, and now the Chinese computer brand Chuwi is applying the perforated screen commonly found in mobile phones to the MiniBook X laptop released earlier. The manufacturer said that the use of this screen makes the frame narrower and the screen ratio higher, and Chiwei even uses the world’s first perforated screen laptop as the selling point of the MiniBook X.

The MiniBook X is equipped with a 10.5-inch screen with a 2K resolution and a 5MP video camera in the upper left corner. The screen supports 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity and an optional stylus. With 11th Gen Intel Celeron N5100 processor, Intel UHD graphics processor, 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB SSD storage. MiniBook X is pre-loaded with Windows 11 system, and the built-in 26.6Wh battery supports 45W PD2.0 fast charging.

Chiwei has chosen a chocolate-style keyboard and adopts a 360-degree foldable body design, which can be used in laptops, tablets, tents and displays. The MiniBook X weighs 899g and has a thickness of 11mm. The body is also equipped with USB Type-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack. MiniBook X is already on sale on CHUWI’s official website, with an official suggested retail price of US$619 (about HK$4,821) and a stylus of US$20 (about HK$156).
