Lucknow: Clean chit to actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and family in pox case. The verdict was handed down by the Muzaffarnagar court. The court had asked the police to produce the final report of the case. After studying the report in detail, the court acquitted the actor and his family members.
The incident related to the case took place in 2012. Nawazuddin’s brother Minisuddin Siddiqui has been charged with sexual harassment. It is alleged that Nawazuddin’s family members supported him when he molested the minor. The case was registered at the Versova police station in Mumbai. Later it was shifted to Buddha Station in Muzaffarnagar.

The police got the crucial CCTV footage from a luxury hotel in Panampally Nagar, Kochi. According to the complainant, Vijay Babu was taken to five places between March 13 and April 14. It is alleged that Vijay Babu raped her in a semi-conscious state by giving her drugs and alcohol. The actress had also complained that she had received death threats if she disclosed the details of the torture.
Police have recently collected evidence to substantiate the actress’ statement. The investigation team secretly went with the complainant to the places mentioned in the statement and confirmed that the two had reached the places mentioned in the complaint at the same time. Police have collected CCTV footage of this from a luxury hotel in Panampally Nagar, Kochi. Police also collected testimonies that they had seen them. Witness statements will be recorded by the police today.
Eight witnesses, including filmmakers, testified. The statements of more witnesses will be recorded today. Police sources said they have received evidence from witnesses validating the statement given by the complainant. Vijay Babu will file a petition today seeking anticipatory bail in the case. Vijay Babu has stated that he is the victim and will convince the court of his innocence.

The probe team said that Vijay Babu should be taken into custody and questioned. Meanwhile, Vijay Babu is likely to approach the high court today seeking anticipatory bail in the case. After the complainant approached the police, Vijay Babu went to Goa and from there went abroad. Police have issued look-out notices for Vijay Babu at all airports across the country. The police had registered another case against Vijay Babu yesterday for revealing the name of the actress live on Facebook.
The actress had alleged that Vijay Babu had brutally raped her in a flat and a luxury hotel in Kochi for a month from March 13. Vijay Babu went abroad after the Ernakulam South police recorded the statement of the woman on the 22nd and registered a case. Based on the information that the actor was in Goa, the SIT reached there but could not find him.
According to the woman, Vijaybabu also raped her while she was in a coma. When he tried to escape, he threatened to release the nude video, promising characters in the film, and said that Vijay Babu continued to be tortured and physically abused. The case against Vijay Babu has been framed under various sections including rape and assault.
