Climate changes could stall the sowing of cereals

The president of the Venezuelan Society of Agricultural Engineers, Saul Elias Lopezwarned that cereal planting is at risk due to climate changes.

“This year we see the winter cycle with many problems, we believe that there may be a stagnation or setback in relation to last year, especially with cereals,” he added.

López indicated that palm production is braked due to lack of planning in terms of trade.

“It was an item that was recovering, but with these import levels without sitting down with the primary authors and without putting any type of planning in the production peaks, this item will be affected,” he said.

With respect to what the producers say, it is that there are smuggling actors that put the performance of the production and cultivation of the palm at risk.
