A student attending school inside a university campus in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul was hit by a garbage truck and died. On the 7th, the Jongam Police Station in Seoul announced that it had booked a man in his 80s for violating the Act on Special Cases for Handling Traffic Accidents.
A, a cleaning worker on a permanent contract with a university, is accused of running into B, a woman in her 20s, who was attending school on campus at 8:50am on the 5th.
It is said that Mr. B avoided the lorry that had slid down the slope. At the time of the accident, Mr. A on board the lorry, and it is known that he was not in a drunken state.
Mr B was taken to hospital immediately after the accident, but was deemed brain dead. It was confirmed that Mr. B died at 7:10pm on the same day.
The police intend to check the lorry’s black box and CCTV and investigate Mr A to reveal the exact circumstances of the accident.
