‘Come back son, Wayanad is waiting’; Sandeep Warrier with poster saying he will not see Rahul

Palakkad: The BJP with a poster full of ridicule against the Wayanad MP amid reports that Rahul Gandhi is traveling abroad again. Sandeep Warrier, state spokesperson of the BJP Wayanad district committee, shared the poster on Facebook. The poster says that Wayanad is waiting for your son to come back. The poster says 51-year-old Rahul Gandhi did not see the MP and was last seen in Bangkok.

Meanwhile, Congress sources said that Rahul was on a short visit to Italy. The Congress also demanded that rumors about Rahul’s departure not be spread. Meanwhile, the Times Now report says that the Congress rally in Moga, Punjab may be postponed due to Rahul’s visit abroad. With the poll dates in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Goa yet to be announced, Rahul’s visit abroad is being used as a campaign weapon by the BJP and others.

However, the Congress party came out in support of Rahul. “Rahul Gandhi is on a short private visit and the BJP and its media friends should not spread unnecessary rumors,” Congress leader Randeep Surjewala told ANI. Rahul Gandhi was also abroad during the winter session of Parliament.

Rahul, who went abroad the day after the conference began, returned the day before the conference. The BJP has been making strong use of Rahul’s successive foreign visits. According to figures released by the Modi government, Rahul Gandhi paid 247 foreign visits from 2015 to 2019. Rahul spent about 150 days abroad during this period. Before the last Maharashtra and Haryana elections, Rahul’s visit to Bangkok was highly controversial.
