Thrissur ∙ As a mark of respect to Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, flags were hoisted at all levels in the area from the CPM branch committee to the district committee. Flowers were placed on the leader’s portrait in the branch committee offices. All party programs have been postponed. Chala government programs including the participation of ministers have also been changed. There was no condolence meeting from this party yesterday because of the public visit held in Thalassery.

The main leaders of the cylch had gone to Thalassery. Some of today’s party events have also been postponed. An all-party condolence meeting will be held at Naduvilal Center today at 5 pm. An all-party condolence meeting will be held in the evening under the leadership of the local committees of all the districts except the Thrissur district. Minister K. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan was a leader who could solve problems head on with balance. Radhakrishnan said in his condolence message.

He has an unforgettable soul connection with him. Kodiyeri was the Speaker when he was Home Minister. He was Deputy Leader of the Opposition when he was Chief Whip of the Opposition. The minister said Kodiyeri’s demise is a loss to the party and Kerala society. The Kerala Congress (M) district committee meeting expressed condolences. The district committee meeting recalled that Kodiyeri played a vital role in bringing the Kerala M Congress to the left front.

District President Unnikrishnan presided over the event. State High Power Committee member MT Thomas, steering committee members Baby Matthew Kavunkal, Sebastian Choondal and Dennis K. Anthony, baby Nellikuzhi, PT. Mathew, KJ Thomas also speaking. INL District President Mohammad Chamakala and General Secretary Bafiq Bakar, NCP State Vice President PK Rajan also expressed his condolences.
