Chun Doo-hwan’s wife, Lee Soon-ja, visited the burial place of the late Roh Tae-woo.

When asked by reporters if he had any intention of apologizing to Lee’s 5.18 victims, Lee left the funeral without saying anything.

Chun Doo-hwan’s wife, Lee Soon-ja, appeared at the funeral home of former President Roh Tae-woo at Seoul National University Hospital’s funeral home.

Jeon, who is said to have shed tears at the news of the passing of former President Roh, did not appear at the funeral.

Kim Ok-sook, who first visited the mortuary with the support of her daughter Noh So-young, greeted Lee directly.

Mr. Lee stayed at the funeral home for about 15 minutes.

After the mourning was over, Lee was asked various questions from the reporters, but he refused to speak.

Condolences from political figures such as former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and former Blue House chief of staff Kim Ki-chun followed.

Chinese Ambassador to Korea Xing Haiming also visited the mortuary and wrote in the guestbook, “The way you have contributed to the development of relations between Korea and China will shine a long way.”

In the afternoon, an admission ceremony was held in the presence of the bereaved family.

The funeral will be held on the morning of the 30th at the Olympic Park Peace Plaza in Seoul.
