Congress leader Manish Tiwari reiterates support for Agneepath

New Delhi: Congress leader Manish Tiwari has again come out in support of the Agneepath project, a contract appointment for the army. In an article in the Indian Express, Tiwari said the project was aimed at modernizing and reforming the military. The senior leader has come out in favor of the plan as the Congress opposes a major protest by military candidates across the country.

He also supported the plan in the early stages of the protests. In the article, Tiwari says it is essential to maintain the youth of the army. Manish Tiwari says India has been thinking about modernizing the military since the 1999 Kargil war. It is important to modernize and reform the military. Tiwari says both of these are holding up the fire path and therefore it is imperative that the project be implemented.

Tiwari’s first comment came at a time when the Congress had decided to go ahead with widespread protests against the Agneepath project. Then the senior leader was rejected and the Congress came on the scene. Meanwhile, Tiwari is back with a detailed article. At the same time, the Congress has rejected Manish Tiwari.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that Manish Tiwari’s statement was his personal opinion and that the Congress had already commented on the issue. Jairam Ramesh said that Agneepath is a project against national security and youth. When the party opposes a plan of the BJP government, the Congress is angry that a senior leader is approving it.
