Thiruvananthapuram> Suspend police officer who insulted late former Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. Thiruvananthapuram Med. Urub, a civilian police officer at College Station, was suspended by the City Police Chief G Spurjankumar. A departmental inquiry has also been announced against him.
According to the order, the officer’s action is defamatory and brings shame to the police and against the circular issued by the Superintendent of Police regarding the conduct of police officers. Urub is also the president of the PTA of LVH Potthankot School. He posted an insulting obituary in the PTA WhatsApp group. He wrote along with Kodiyeri’s picture, ‘A murderer is dead’.
The CPI-M Anaikot branch had filed a complaint with the chief minister, the police chief and the ADGP of the south region, demanding action against the police officer who insulted the death of a former home minister. Earlier Urub was Mullapally Ramachandran’s gunman.
