Corruption in construction of Kozhikode KSRTC complex; Agitation

The Congress and the BJP have started agitation demanding a judicial inquiry into the corruption in the construction of the KSRTC complex in Kozhikode. While the BJP alleged that the biggest looting in Kerala took place under the cover of the complex, the Congress alleged that the government was trying to hand over the building to a private company for a small amount.

The Congress and the BJP have decided to use the Chennai AAAT report that the building is dilapidated and needs to be repaired as a political weapon. The Leader of the Opposition inaugurated the protest rally held by the Congress in front of the complex. VD Satheesan demanded that not only those who failed in construction but also those who had contracted out the complex to a private company for less should be brought before the law.

BJP national executive committee member PK Krishnadas, who visited the KSRTC complex, said not only the CPM but also the Congress was involved in the scam. Meanwhile, Transport Minister Antony Raju said action would be taken against those who designed the building and the contractors after discussions with the Chief Minister.
