Kozhikode: The number of Kovid patients (Covid 19) is not decreasing in North Kerala. With the increase in the number of health workers in government hospitals, the health department is trying to come up with an alternative system. Although the crisis in medical facilities has been resolved, the challenge facing the northern districts is the shortage of health workers.

Kozhikode Medical College Hospital alone has 57 doctors including 17 doctors
Kovid confirmed to health workers yesterday. With that, here’s Kovid
211 confirmed health workers. Kovid became positive for two other health workers at Beach Hospital. There are currently 42 health workers currently being treated for Kovid. In this situation there is an urgent need to deploy Kovid brigades.

The KGMOA, an association of government doctors, has written to the government raising the issue. In the letter, KGMOA also demanded that antigen testing be expanded. Farook ESI Hospital has 100 beds. It has been decided to admit Kovid patients here from the 28th of this month. With the setting up of 100 beds in the Government Homoeo Medical College Hospital, the crisis in inpatient treatment of Kovid patients has been temporarily resolved. The number of Kovid patients in Palakkad is increasing day by day.

Kovid prevalence is also high among health workers. So there is a shortage of staff in the district. The number of Kovid patients in Malappuram district has increased significantly. The health department is on high alert as the number of patients has risen to over 3,000. Kasargod has also seen an increase in Kovid patients. The number of patients has not decreased in Wayanad and Kannur districts either. However, the Department of Health explains that there are adequate facilities here.
