Covid away! Women’s El Clasico breaks record for most views in history
An El Clasico game between young mothers Barcelona opens at Camp Nou to host Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League for women. On the night of March 30 Breaking the record for most viewers in women’s football history at 91,553 people.

It also surpassed the official most viewership record for the women’s game. That record was set since the 1999 World Cup between the United States and China, when 90,195 fans attended a game at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
All 99,354 tickets for the game on Wednesday 30 March have been sold out since January. But the prospect of record breaking was shaken after heavy rains all day in Barcelona and the match started with only half the stadium being watched. But as the game progressed, fans slowly flocked to join in and ended up at Camp Nou with nearly full capacity.
