Gandhinagar: In the first week of November, a controversy erupted in the area of Sasal Gir, also known as Sasan Gir, part of the Gujarat Gir Wildlife Sanctuary, which is famous for its case of feeding cows to lions.

The incident came to light after the footage of the show was spread on social media. Of the 12 people who registered the case, three were arrested. The spectators watched as the lion attacked the cow. Junagadh Forest Deputy Conservator SK Berwal said such exhibitions, which include wildlife, are not allowed. The case has been registered under various sections of the Wildlife Conservation Act.
