Thiruvananthapuram: CPM defends SHIJU KHAN, General Secretary, Child Welfare Committee, despite failures in adoption of Anupama’s baby. CPM Thiruvananthapuram district secretary Anavur Nagappan told Asianet News that the Child Welfare Committee and the CWC were not at fault and no action would be taken against Shijukhan until proven guilty.
Anavur reiterated that Shijukhan was not at fault and no action would be taken. The Director of Women and Child Development TV Anupama is not aware of the content of the report. If the Child Welfare Committee receives a report of wrongdoing, action may be considered. Anavur said no action would be taken till then.
Anupama’s reply to Anavur was that Anavur was not the last word of the government and the party. Anavar is also at fault. Anupama said that is why Anavur is protecting Shishukhan.
Anupama started a strike in front of the Child Welfare Committee from the 11th of this month to get the baby released. Although she got the baby back, Anupama decided to continue the fight against those who kept the baby away from her. Anupama will announce further protests today. Anupama wants action against Shiju Khan, general secretary of the Child Welfare Committee, and Sunanda, the CWC chairperson. The report of the Director of Women and Child Development refutes the allegations that there were no irregularities in the adoption process. TV Anupama found that the Child Welfare Committee and the CWC had committed serious misconduct in the adoption process. But Anavur said he did not know about the report.
