The hurricane will get stronger in the next few hours. Extreme levels of flood danger were announced in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. NDRF has been deployed for the rescue operation.
Isolated heavy showers are likely in Kerala though not within the limits of the cyclone. Yellow alert was declared in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki and Palakkad districts today. The rain is expected to continue till Tuesday.

28-09-2021: Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur.
Fishing is prohibited along the Kerala-Lakshadweep coast on Monday and Tuesday due to strong winds of 45 to 55 kmph. Until Tuesday, the weather will be similar in the southwestern Bay of Bengal and its adjoining south-eastern Bay of Bengal, Kanyakumari region and the Maldives.

Hurricane Gulab is expected to bring light to heavy rains in many parts of southern Odisha and coastal Andhra Pradesh. Telangana is also likely to receive heavy or very heavy rains. Extreme levels of flood danger were announced in at least two places.
