[KNS뉴스통신=장세홍 기자] The Dalseong-gun Wheelchair Tennis Team won the team tennis championship at the 41st National Sports Festival for the Disabled, held for the first time in two years in the aftermath of COVID-19 from the 20th to the 25th.
The Dalseong-gun Wheelchair Tennis Team represented Daegu in the men’s team tennis match at the 41st National Paralympic Games held at the Gumi Sports Complex in Gumi-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do and won the championship.
Daegu met Incheon and Gyeonggi-do in the quarter-finals and quarter-finals, beating Incheon and Gyeonggi-do 2-0, showing off their overwhelming power.
With this, Daegu won the men’s team event in 2018 and 2019, and kept the top spot for the third time in a row.
In addition, Seongbong Han, a member of the Dalseong-gun Office, continued his upward trend by taking runners-up in individual singles and individual doubles, respectively. The Dalseong-gun Wheelchair Tennis Team is greatly enhancing the status of Korea and Dalseong-gun by placing 3rd in the individual competition at the KEMAL SAHIN OPEN held in Turkey in May this year.
Kim Moon-oh, Mayor of Dalseong-gun, said, “I am proud of the team that made Daegu City and Dalseong-gun shine by achieving excellent results in this year’s National Paralympic Games. We hope that systematic training will lead to good results in the future.”
