McLaren’s Daniel Ricciardo finished fifth in the F1 US Grand Prix final.
This year’s tournament saw a fierce battle between McLaren and Ferrari competing for third place in the Constructors’ Championship. Ferrari won first in qualifying, but Daniel Ricciardo overtook Carlos Sainz to finish in 5th place in the final. It slightly prevented the point difference from shrinking.
“I’m really happy. We weren’t faster than the Ferraris, so I’m happy to beat one of them,” said Daniel Ricciardo.
“I had to defend quite hard for a few laps, so I’m happy to get rid of him.”
“It was a tricky race. I fought a lot to keep the position, but in theory I think 5th is a really good result. I got a few points from Carlos (Sainz) and finally Valtteri (Bottas) I was able to do some damage limitation because I caught him. “
“I hope I can go back to Mexico and show them a little more. The fans are great and the audience is great. I want to entertain them.”
