A tragic incident unfolded at a golf ball manufacturing factory in Taiwan yesterday, resulting in a large explosion that claimed the lives of seven individuals, with three more still missing.
According to local media reports, Mingyang International Science and Technology Co, Ltd’s factory in Pingtung County Science and Technology Industrial Park was the site of the devastating explosion. It is believed that three workers and four firefighters were among the casualties.
The aftermath of the incident also saw 98 people injured, including ten firefighters, who were promptly rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. The fate of the three missing workers remains uncertain at this time.
In response to the tragedy, Pingtung County promptly established a disaster response center to coordinate efforts to extinguish the fire that engulfed the factory. However, the presence of highly flammable materials made firefighting operations challenging.
