This time, the production team of Dunpa is overhauling this structure. While expanding the maximum level from level 100 to level 110, it also lowers the burden of farming by preventing excessive dependence on specific equipment. The details were revealed through the Dunpa Festival 2021 held on the 19th. At the site, Director Myung-Jin Yoon announced the update plan for a whopping two and a half hours from 7:30 pm, heralding a major change in Dunpa itself.
After laying the foundation for character and optimization like this, from March 17th, level 110 expansion and related content will be added. Director Yoon Myung-jin said, “I think there are a lot of people who feel sorry for the extended period. However, we prepared winter updates and events to fill the gap.”
From the sealing of Ozma to the new raid ‘Baekal, the Dragon King’
The highest level of Dunpa is expanded from level 100 to level 110, and new stories and dungeons are added. As of the March update, scenario dungeons, 8 general dungeons, and 2 advanced dungeons will be introduced. This is the first time since 2012 that Dunpa raised the maximum level by 10 units at a time instead of 5 units. There is a lot of prepared content, and new dungeons and raids will appear after March.
First of all, the story takes place after Saint Michaela seals the apostle Ozma into his body. Michaela succeeded in sealing Ozma, but could not completely purify the energy, and as a result, another disaster appeared in Arad. At the same time, new areas such as Noblesse Code, which fight against the forces that have touched the taboo power, and the Castle of the Destroyed Dead waiting for someone familiar are added as new areas.
After March, a new upper dungeon ‘Meister’s Lab’ and a new type of dungeon ‘Legion’ that connects advanced dungeons and raids will appear. The first Legion to appear is ‘Stolen Land, Ispins’, a 4-person party, and will face 7 Yongin. Meister’s laboratory will be released in May, and Ispins will be released in July. And in September, a new raid ‘Bakal, the Dragon King’ will appear. The final battle with Bakal in Bakal’s palace is dealt with, and a directing suitable for the story is introduced.
There are three main things that the producers have in mind when playing the dungeon while proceeding with the level 110 expansion. It is to give meaning to the process of character growth itself, to prevent party play from being forced, and to reduce the burden of excessive repetitive play, which is called ‘homework’.
First, about the character growth process, general director Yoon Myung-jin said, “Even though it is a very important part, it has been reduced to a process of quickly reaching max level and going to farm. So I made it possible to farm naturally in the process of growing up.” In other words, the scenario dungeon is not a section that passes quickly, but a section that develops characters through farming.
In other words, the importance of dungeons in addition to raids increases. In particular, there is no hell party at the time of the highest level expansion, and Epic equipment is dropped from general dungeons, scenario dungeons, and advanced dungeons. In particular, Noblesse Code, one of the advanced dungeons, can be cleared by 4 characters in the same account at the same time, and rewards are received respectively. General Director Yoon explained, “This dungeon has a high Epic drop rate, and each character can pick and choose the one that suits them.”
Next, ‘difficulty’ was introduced as a device to prevent forced party play. You can choose the scenario dungeon difficulty from Normal to King to suit your situation, and Heroes, the highest difficulty level, will be introduced again. General Director Yoon said, “Normal is possible even for those who have just reached level 100, and I think King will be able to clear smoothly if he meets the Ozma graduation set. The difficulty is subdivided, so you can go either as a single person or as a party.” He said, “Heroes provides the fun of attacking unique patterns while increasing the basic abilities of enemies such as stamina, defense, and attack power.”
Lastly, in order to reduce the burden of repeated play, the admission ticket system is applied to advanced dungeons. Previously, advanced dungeons were limited in the number of daily entry. The production team judged that such a limit on the number of times resulted in an increase in the burden of play as it was perceived as a loss to the player if he took a day off from playing the dungeon. In this regard, the number of entries is eliminated and the ‘play points’ that can be collected through dungeon play are different in the way of purchasing ‘tickets’ that can enter advanced dungeons. General Director Yoon Myung-jin said, “Tickets and play points can be collected and used, so if you don’t run the dungeon a set number of times, you won’t feel like it’s a loss.” In addition, missions and achievements that can be set as a kind of goal while going around the dungeon are added.
The maximum character level is 110, but why is the item level 105?
For the past few years, Dunpa has been matching the maximum level of characters and items equally. But this time, the maximum level of the character is 110, but the item is only level 105. The reason is to preserve the value of the existing level 100 item and to lower the burden of equipment farming. In addition, the degree of freedom is given to option setting so that various combinations can be utilized rather than biased toward securing a specific item.
First of all, level 105 items do not have set equipment that requires multiple parts to match, and are all single items. Since the equipment is not tied into a set, there is no reason to fit a specific set. General Director Yoon Myung-jin explained the reason for providing all items as a single item, saying, “Because multiple parts are required to see the set effect, the degree of freedom in setting is reduced and the period of farming to obtain a specific part is prolonged.”
Of these, two new level 105 weapons are added for each type. One is the damage option adheres to, and the other has the option to customize each character’s skill. In addition, the probability of dropping the weapon of the character circling the dungeon greatly increases. There are dozens of characters in Dunpa, and users are stressed because the weapons that are hard to obtain are not for their profession. If the drop probability of your weapon increases, this difficulty seems to be reduced. In addition, it simplifies the rare, unique, and legendary level farming routes before the epic, and the performance is strengthened than before.
Here, the path to obtain good equipment is extended by hard work, not luck. Basically, the more difficult the dungeon, the higher the option value equipment will drop, and the ‘option growth’ system will be introduced, which can drive the level and experience to one side by synthesizing equipment with the same option. General Director Yoon said, “Of course, among the level 105 as well as level 100 epic equipment, Ozma raid fusion equipment, sirocco raid fusion equipment with the black purgatory option converted to the maximum value, and reverberation fusion weapon with the black purgatory option can be used as materials. After acquiring new equipment, if you synthesize this equipment with materials, you will be able to see a significant increase in performance.” In addition, he said that the level 100 myth equipment and product equipment maintains the performance comparable to that of the new epic equipment to the final stage.
At the same time, ‘custom option equipment’ for which the option itself is not determined is also added. However, there is no problem in playing all content only with fixed option equipment, not custom equipment, and there are fixed equipment with attractive new options.” In addition, ‘option transfer’ is introduced between custom option equipment, which brings one desired option to another equipment and overwrites it.
