Beijing: The world’s first Delta variant of the virus has been reported in China by Kovid. The number of cases has been on the rise for the past few days. About 200 delta cases have been confirmed in China. Delta virus is highly contagious.
The Delta variant is most commonly reported in connection with the Nanjing airport. According to Chinese official media reports, this is the second major outbreak since the Wuhan virus outbreak in December 2019.
Due to the rising number of delta cases related to Nanjing Airport, restrictions were imposed here until August 11. Further inspections and other restrictions have been imposed in the city. Partial lockdowns were also imposed in some places.
The Chinese authorities were on high alert to avoid a second Kovid effect. However, official media outlets point out that the current spread of the virus is due to the failure of the airport authorities.
The disease was first confirmed on July 10 by people on a flight from Russia. The flight attendants did not follow the Kovid protocol. Ground staff and cleaners were the first to contract the disease. The delta was then confirmed in various cities and provinces.
The question also arises as to how effective Chinese vaccines are against the Delta variant. However, it is not yet clear how many of those diagnosed with the disease have been vaccinated.
On July 29, 49 cases were confirmed in the country. On July 30, 64 people were confirmed. So far, 92,930 people have contracted the disease in the country. 4636 people died. Currently, 971 people are being treated for the disease. Of these, 26 are in critical condition, according to the Weldometer website.
