Mumbai: Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis has left for Delhi. Fadnavis’ move comes as rebel MLAs against Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray remain in Guwahati. Fadnavis will meet Amit Shah.
Fadnavis’ house in Nagpur has been beefed up, police said. More police personnel have been deployed at the Shiv Sena Bhavan in Mumbai and the Chief Minister’s private residence ‘Matoshree’. Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey met the Chief Minister to discuss the law and order situation.
According to a police report, Shiv Sena activists may resort to violence in Mumbai as MLAs clash with Shiv Sena. However, NCP leader Jayant Patil said the only problem was that some unhappy Shiv Sena MLAs had gone to another state. Jayant Patil said he was confident that the Shiv Sena would bring back the MLAs.
