Some of the Korean translations that Blizzard applied to Diablo 2: Resurrection are changed to the existing legacy style.

The change, which was announced on the Blizzard official website on the 10th, can be seen as a consideration for players who have become accustomed to playing Diablo 2 for more than 20 years. Blizzard said that it expects to solve the inconvenience caused by item identification, transaction, and information exchange through this retranslation.

First, the names of about 500 weapons and armor are changed to transliteration. While respecting the existing legacy translations as much as possible, we correct mistranslations or some expressions that do not fit the times. Adjusting a Ballista to a Ballista is a typical example.

And some of the unique monsters (super unique monsters) appearing in the game are changed to the transliteration range. It is a decision to judge the monsters as unique nouns in consideration of the proportion of those monsters in the game and the problem of identification of existing users.

At the same time, the localization translation of the names of prefixes or runes that judge the grade of potions and gems, as well as the technical names, regions, and various objects that were mentioned a lot through beta test feedback, has been refined. The change will be applied at the same time as the game is released for the PC version, and the console platform will be applied sequentially according to the update schedule of each console.

Meanwhile, Blizzard mentioned that with the release of Diablo 2: Resurrection, it will introduce the ability to select the in-game text and audio language respectively. Accordingly, it is possible to choose the cuisine as desired, such as selecting Korean text and English voice. This setting can also be applied to cinematic images.
