Did a German deliver nuclear weapons technology to Russia?

The United States put a German under sanctions: M. is said to belong to a network that supplies Russia’s military with technology. Including for nuclear weapons.

A German is said to have supplied Russia’s military and intelligence services with sensitive technologies – including equipment for the country’s nuclear weapons laboratories. The US Treasury Department put the 58-year-old under sanctions on Friday. M. belongs to a network of Swiss entrepreneurs who covertly supply the Russian government. The deliveries also included hydraulic presses and armouring.

Traces to Bulgaria and Dubai

According to the information, M. controlled two companies in Bulgaria and Russia that were involved in the sanctions evasion network. According to information from t-online, the company advertised in Bulgaria with product solutions for a variety of technology fields. The associated websites were not accessible. According to this, however, there is a connection to a company in Dubai that has also been sanctioned.

M.’s case would be the latest in a series of cases in which Germany is alleged to have acted as a supplier or hub for highly sensitive goods to Russia. In August, the Stade public prosecutor had a company in Lower Saxony searched. In more than 30 cases, chemicals suitable for the production of warfare agents are said to have been delivered to Russia from there.

A few weeks later, a suspected arms dealer worth millions was arrested in Hamburg. Together with an accomplice, he smuggled microprocessors and semiconductors for fighter jets and missiles from the USA to Russia, according to the FBI.
