DrSinger Chinmayi Sripada has criticized actor Kamal Haasan who came on stage to support the wrestlers who are on strike at Lehi Jantar Mandar. He accused Kamal Haasan of not saying a single word against the ban he has been facing in the Tamil film industry for the past five years. Chinmayi criticized by sharing Kamal Haasan’s tweet in favor of wrestlers.

Wrestling Federation President Brij Bhushan completed a month of protest at Jantar Mantar demanding action on the sexual assault complaint against Sharan Singh. Kamal Haasan’s tweet indicated this. Instead of fighting for the glory of the country, we have forced them to fight for their own safety. Kamal tweeted. He also added the hashtags Stand With My Champions and Wrestlers Protest along with the note.

By sharing this, Chinmayi has raised her voice against Kamal Haasan. Chinmayi criticizes that Kamal has not raised a single voice against the ban that a singer has been facing in Tamil Nadu for the last five years for revealing the name of an abuser. They ask how politicians who speak up for women’s safety can be trusted when they ignore harassment right under their noses.

In 2018, Chinmayi Me Too made allegations against lyricist Vairamuthu via Twitter. In 2005, Chinmayi revealed that Vairamuthu sexually harassed her when she came to Switzerland for a musical called Vakimattam. This took the Tamil music industry by storm. While Vairamuthu denied all these allegations, Chinmayi replied that he was lying. Chinmayi is one of the early people who came onto the scene with the claims of Me Too in the film world.

Chinmayi was banned from the film by South Indian Cine Television Artists and Dubbing Artists Union due to the allegations against Vairamuthu. This ban has been in force for five years.
