Dileep Case: Director Rafi recognizes Dileep’s voice; Crime Branch with outdated investigation

Kochi: During the interrogation of Dileep (dileep) in connection with the conspiracy to kill the investigating officers in the actress attack case, director Rafi was called to identify Dileep’s voice. Rafi has identified Dileep’s voice from the voice sample provided by Balachandra Kumar. Their close friends will be called today to identify the voices of the other accused. Defendants heard all the audio recordings in the SP’s cabin. He asked if their voices were in it. It was only after this that those associated with it were called in for identification.

The crime branch said that Balachandra Kumar was not called for the protection of the witness. Under the present circumstances, it would not be right to put Balachandra Kumar in front of the accused. Balachandra Kumar will be summoned after the High Court verdict, the probe team said. The crime branch had earlier planned to summon the complainant director Balachandra Kumar today but later abandoned the move.

In the meantime, the investigation team informed that they have collected the phone call details of the accused for one year. Most of these callers will be called. A list of them has been prepared. The interrogation of the accused in the case, including Dileep, will continue for the third day today. The High Court has directed that the interrogation should end at 8 pm. The High Court on Thursday directed that the progress of the investigation of the case and the details of the interrogation be communicated. After considering these reports, the court will issue an order on the anticipatory bail of the accused.
