The nationwide flag was tied below the CPM flag at the dwelling of K Jayarajan, a indigenous of Chemmanampathi. K Jayarajan is also a CPM leader. This area is close to the border of Tamil Nadu.
As the incident grew to become controversial, the Congress and the BJP came ahead to demand from customers action against these who insulted the nationwide flag.
