Mumbai: (www.kvartha.com 23.11.2021) The BCCI has made halal meat mandatory on the Indian cricket team’s food menu. The BCCI has included halal food in the food menu for the first Test against New Zealand in Kanpur.

According to NDTV, the national media has also advised people not to eat beef or pork.
NDTV also shared a picture of the Indian team’s ‘Catering Requirements and Menu’. An important suggestion here is to refer to halal food, beef and pork.

This is a diet plan prepared as part of ensuring nutrition for the athletes. Following the release of this food menu, several posts appeared on social media against the BCCI.

There have been several tweets related to this under the hashtag #BCCIPromotesHalal. Most of the tweets were in protest of the BCCI’s ban on halal food. They allege that the BCCI’s decision was in the interest of a section of the team.

However, the BCCI has not commented on the matter. BJP leader Gaurav Goyal and others have come out against the BCCI’s move.
