Dubai: The Dubai Municipality has launched mobile apps for slaughtering and distributing meat on Eid al-Fitr. Ahead of the Eid celebrations, extensive facilities have been set up in the slaughterhouses under the Dubai Municipality. The municipality has set up a facility to slaughter up to 40,000 animals on the day of the Feast of Sacrifice and to deliver the sacrificial meat to those in need.
Seven mobile apps have been developed to select and perform animal sacrifices. Sacrifice procedures can be completed through the mobile app without having to go to the slaughterhouses. 2,000 employees have been set up for this. The mobile apps are Al Mawashi, Turkey, Shabab Al Fareej, Dabaih Aldar, Al Anood Salotours, Dabaih UAE and Tender Meat.
Slaughterhouses in Al-Qais, Al-Qus, Hatta and Al-Saili will be open from 7 am on the day of ‘Arafah. They will be open from 8 am on festive days. Scrutiny systems have been set up to ensure the quality of the sacrificial animals and the safety of the meat supply.
