Dr. Rangpur. Case against Yunus

The founding chairman of the Grameen Group of Companies and the Agricultural Foundation is accused of violating labor laws. A case has been filed against six people including Muhammad Yunus in the Rangpur Labor Court.

Farukul Islam, a retired senior farm manager of Grameen Krishi Foundation, filed the case on Tuesday (September 19) afternoon. Shamim Al Mamun, the plaintiff’s lawyer, confirmed the filing of the case.

The other accused in the case are – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Grameen Krishi Foundation Noor Jahan Begum, Managing Director (Acting) Shamsud Doha, Board members Imamus Sultan, Ratan Kumar Nag and Shahajan.

Lawyer Shamim Al Mamun said that the plaintiff Fakhrul Islam has asked Dr. Dr. He filed a case against six people including Yunus.

The plaintiff in the case, Farukul Islam, was working as a farm manager of the Grameen Krishi Foundation Unit Office under Gobindganj Upazila of Gaibandha District. At that time the plaintiff was forced to retire without payment of retirement gratuity and encashment of accrued leave. Since then the defendants have been refusing to pay the dues.
