Chey Tae-won, chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (photo, Chairman of SK Group), co-chairman of the Busan Expo bidding committee, will conduct bidding activities in three European countries, Spain, Portugal, and Denmark, as a presidential delegation from r 28th to the 5th of next month. The delegation, led by Chairman Chey, included full-time vice chairman Woo Tae-hee of the Korea Chamber of Commerce, SK Hynix Vice Chairman Park Jeong-ho, SK Eco Plant President Park Kyung-il, Samsung Electronics European General Manager Seong Il-kyung, and former Ambassador to Mexico Hong Seong-hwa.

On the 1st of next month, Chairman Choi will meet Reyes Maroto, Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism of Spain, and then move to Lisbon, Portugal to continue the bid for the expo.
Apart from the activities of the special envoys, Samsung Electronics is holding activities to attract the Busan Expo in different parts of the city, including outside the MWC exhibition hall, Barcelona Cathedral, Barcelona Airport and trams that operate in the city centre. It’s a way to publicize Busan by embedding a cheering message for the ‘2030 Busan Expo’ on a large outdoor billboard for the recently released Galaxy S23 series. In the MWC exhibition hall, a promotional video for the Busan Expo is screened on a large screen. Samsung Electronics expects that visitors from all over the world visiting Barcelona will be able to experience Samsung Electronics’ mobile technology and confirm Busan’s strengths as an exhibition venue.
Previously, Samsung Electronics has been holding various activities to raise awareness of Busan as an expo location at major global events such as Europe’s largest home appliance exhibition ‘IFA’ and exhibition exhibition ‘ISE’.
