Driving without a license: Child drivers arrested

Dubai : Children arrested for driving without license in Hatta

Hatta police station director Col. Mubra al-Qutbi said four child drivers were arrested during a police search. The police investigation found that the vehicle was used by children between the ages of 13 and 16 without the knowledge of the parents. They were handed over to the concerned departments to take further action for traffic violations.

Police demanded that children be kept on high alert and not allowed to drive without a license. Children should be made aware to stay away from things like racing that endanger their own lives and the safety of others. Parental support is also essential. Without it, law enforcement alone will not be able to curb such trends, police said.

Under federal law in the UAE, driving without a license carries a fine of up to 50,000 dirhams or up to three months in prison, or both.
