Dubai: The Dubai Expo, the first of its kind in the Middle East, has received an influx of visitors. In the first 10 days since the Expo opened on October 1, 4,11,768 people bought tickets and came to see the wonders of the Expo.
One-third of visitors are foreign tourists. According to official figures, people from 175 countries have already visited the expo. Organizers said that in the first 10 days alone, one in five people came to see the wonders of the Expo more than once. It conveys the message that one day you will not be able to see and experience the highlights of the Expo. Tickets with many options are on sale, but multi – day tickets and season tickets are the most sought after, according to organizers BIE Secretary General Dimitri S. Kirkentus. He added that the public response in the first week was an indication that the Dubai Expo would be a huge success.

Reem al-Hashimi, director general of the Expo and Minister of State for International Cooperation, said the Expo was “very impressive.” She added that the large number of visitors in the early days was a testament to the interest that people from all over the world are looking at the Expo. The opening ceremony of the Expo Virtual, the digital platform of the World Cultural Exhibition, was watched live by over 30 lakh people. Organizers said that from October 1 to 10, more than five lakh people watched the expo online.
The Expo, which runs till March 31, 2022, has more than 200 pavilions for visitors from 192 countries, including India. Every day a variety of entertainment, music, stage shows and cultural events are organized as part of the expo. The organizers of the expo expect that more visitors will flock to Dubai in the coming days as international travel restrictions are lifted.
