Prince Harry and Meghan Markle concluded their four-day Australian tour in Sydney on Friday, April 17, 2026, with a visit to a rugby match between the NSW Waratahs and Moana Pasifika.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the game as the final event of their whirlwind tour, which included stops in Melbourne and Sydney. Their visit marked their first return to Australia since 2018.
Earlier in the day, the couple visited the Bondi Surf Bathers’ Life Saving Club, where they met with survivors of the December 14, 2025, Bondi Beach terror attack and first responders who assisted during the incident.
Survivor Elon Zizer, who was shot six times during the attack while celebrating Hanukkah with his family, expressed gratitude for the couple’s visit, stating it was an honour to meet them and acknowledging their effort to engage with the affected community.
First responder Jonathan Pott, who was at the clubhouse during a Christmas party when the attack occurred, said it meant a lot that the royal couple took time to visit the site and meet with those impacted by the tragedy.
The couple were also seen walking along Bondi Beach and later outside the Sydney Opera House, where a crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of them as they prepared to board a sail boat on Sydney Harbour.
Michael Hartung, chief executive of Invictus Australia, noted the significance of the couple’s return to Sydney Harbour, highlighting its historical connection to the Invictus Games, where sailing first joined the competition.
Throughout the tour, Prince Harry and Meghan engaged with various community groups and participated in events centered on resilience, service, and mental well-being, consistent with their ongoing philanthropic focus.
The tour concluded with the rugby match, providing a public farewell as the Duke and Duchess prepared to depart Australia after their four-day visit.
