Bangalore: The Kerala Blasters, reduced to eight, lost to Bangalore FC after three players were shown red cards in the Durant Cup. Bangalore FC defeated the Blasters by two wickets.
The Blasters finished the second half with eight men after three defenders were sent off. In the first half, Nangyal Bhutia put Bangalore ahead with a free kick. Ruiwa Homipam was sent off in the 64th minute for a second yellow card. Soon after, Leon Augustine scored the second goal for Bangalore.
After that, Sandeep Singh and Denachandra Mehti were sent off by the Blasters’ defense. The Blasters, who beat the Indian Navy 1-0 in the first match, will take on Delhi FC on the 21st. Only the first two teams in each of the four groups will advance to the quarterfinals.
