[14日 ロイター] – The Dutch Ministry of Defense said on the 13th that two Dutch F-35 fighters spotted the formation of three Russian military aircraft over Poland and escorted them out of the airspace.
“An unknown aircraft initially approached the NATO area of responsibility in Poland from Kaliningrad,” the ministry said in a statement.
It later turned out to be a Russian IL-20M reconnaissance aircraft along with two SU-27 Vanguards, and said Dutch F-35s led the formation from afar and passed it on to its NATO partners.
Kaliningrad is a Russian Baltic enclave located between Poland and Lithuania, members of NATO and the European Union (EU).
Russia’s Defense Ministry did not respond to a Reuters request for comment.
The Dutch Ministry of Defense said that Dutch F-35s were stationed in Poland between February and March.
