While an Australian broadcaster was broadcasting news related to the Tokyo Olympics in Japan, an earthquake occurred and the screen shook.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency on the 4th, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 occurred off the coast of Ibaraki Prefecture around 5:33 am. In the aftermath of this earthquake, the screen of the Australian Channel 7 morning news show ‘Sunrise’, which was just broadcasting live, shook. The moment reporter Marc Beretta appeared on the screen to deliver today’s Australian national team match from the 10-story temporary press tower in front of the Tokyo Olympic Stadium, the camera and lights shook.
Beretta, who sensed the earthquake, said, “There is an earthquake in this city where the Olympics are being held.” His ‘pupil earthquake’ (eyes shake when embarrassed) also got on the air.
The earthquake lasted about 30 seconds, and he said, “I’ve never felt an earthquake before, so it’s a very unusual experience,” he added.
The Japan Meteorological Agency said there is no risk of a tsunami due to the earthquake. Meanwhile, at around 1:30 pm on the same day, a magnitude 5.8 earthquake occurred in a sea area 138 km east of Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture.
