| Earthquake on Indonesian island of Bali: Three dead

Indonesia: Three killed in Indonesia earthquake An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale shook the region this morning. The quake comes days after the island was opened to tourism after the Kovid crisis.

The US Geological Survey said the quake, measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale, was 62 kilometers northeast of the port city of Bali. Reuters reports that there was a continuous movement with a magnitude of 4.3.

The quake killed at least two people and left three villages isolated. Houses and temples were destroyed in the nearby district. A three-year-old girl died when the rubble of her house fell here. Bali reopened to international visitors last Thursday, a year and a half after the Kovid crisis erupted. At least 105 people have been killed and more than 6,500 injured in an earthquake that struck Indonesia last January.
