Lhe anti-French steamroller has made its first major victim. The departure, in a month, of the soldiers of the “Sabre” mission. This support unit, installed for a few years in Faso, in support of the fight against terrorism in the Sahel. 400 elite forces will leave the land of Faso. Will we regret them?

For the street, not really.

Only the officials of the FDS hierarchy could enlighten us, because their exploits are unknown to the public, and if they were really effective and at the service of Burkina Faso, we would not have lost so many territories and men. As in Mali, the lack of concrete results has fueled the rejection of the French force where some pro-Russians often speak of complicity with the enemy.

France is at a turning point in its military relations with African countries. Its doctrine of intervention is totally called into question.

It was a failure and we must draw all the consequences. Burkina Faso has decided to rely on its own forces, at its own risk, the French will say. However, by denouncing the military agreement, the Transition made it possible to reshuffle the cards and redirect military cooperation: no to military bases, yes to equipment and training.
