KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – Emmitt Thomas announced his retirement as a teacher as a Kansas City Chiefs defense course, finishing a NFL career that started as the Hall of Fame player and completed under five decades.

Thomas spent 13 seasons for the Main Princes, helping the organization with a pair of Super Bowl sites and their championship in 1970. The All-Pro resigned twice in 1978 and started training in Central State of Missouri before moving on the benefits of St Louis's Friendship.

"My journey in Kansas City began, and through the grace of God I am also able to put an end to my NFL career here," said Thomas, who was enshrined in the Pro Football Champion Hall in 2008. "It was a privilege to work with the great coaches that came through this building. Taking the opportunity to coach as many talented young men in my coach time is one of my biggest gifts. "

Thomas joined the Main Degree as a free and unreasonable free agent from the Bishop's College in 1966, but four years after the organization moved from Dallas to Kansas City. He helped the Mainlanders find the first Super Bowl as loud, losing to Bay Bay, before they go three years later.

The new coach Falcons, Mike Smith, held the following year, then he joined the Chief Leaders in 2010, a movement that allowed him to compensate for playing a career for 51 years.

"During a career that goes across two strands and most of the modern era of the NFL, Emmitt was a Fame Hell and one of the most respected coaches in the series," said Chief Executive Clark Hunt. "Emmitt will always be part of our Chiefs family."

The retirement of 75 years of age of Thomas is expected after the Chiefs of Los Angeles, lost to overtime to the Patriots in the AFC Championship match, received Bob Sutton's long-term protection co-ordinator.

Steve Spagnuolo is employed to handle the protection and many of his assistants are taking part.
