Melbourne Cricket Ground management fined a fan who entered the pitch and approached Rohit Sharma during the India vs Zimbabwe match 6.5 lakh rupees. The fan came in during the seventeenth over.
The fan ran to Rohit Sharma with the Indian flag. The incident happened during the fifth ball of the seventeenth over which was bowled by Hardik Pandya. Later, the security personnel came and arrested the fan. A huge fine was imposed on the gallery for breach of discipline. The amount of the penalty will be displayed on the big screen on the ground. According to the ICC rules for international competition venues, there is a minus point if there is a security breach on the ground. If the safety breach is repeated in three consecutive matches, the venue may be banned. This is the first time Melbourne Cricket Ground has issued a fine for a breach of the rules and made it public.
