EPL Tottenham-Palace match postponed due to COVID-19

The possibility that Son Heung-min’s team, England’s professional soccer team, Tottenham Hotspur, will be postponed due to the Corona 19 mass infection of the opposing team has increased.

British media such as Football London and the Daily Mail reported that the Premier League round 19 match between Tottenham and Crystal Palace, scheduled to be held at 12:00 pm Korean time on the 26th, is expected to be postponed.

This is because two additional key staff members tested positive ahead of the Tottenham match while there have already been several confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Crystal Palace squad and are being quarantined.

Crystal Palace players are waiting without gathering at the club’s hotel to prepare for the Tottenham match.

Football London said: “The Premier League (EPL) secretariat remains to decide, but it looks very likely that the match will be cancelled.”

Crystal Palace was also unable to play the 18th round Watford match scheduled to be held on the 19th due to Corona 19, but at this time, it was canceled due to a confirmed case in Watford.

Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira said at a press conference one day before the match against Tottenham, “We have done everything we can to prevent all this, but I’m concerned. We don’t know what will happen in the next few days.”

Tottenham Hotspur are experiencing more serious disruptions to their league schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
