Christian Eriksen (Denmark) scores a goal in the match A comeback.

Denmark lost 2-4 to the Netherlands in a friendly match against the Netherlands held at Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam on the 27th (Korean time). The two teams, which have already qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar, fought fiercely throughout the 90 minutes to explore their power.

A fierce match with four goals in the first half turned into a moving moment in an instant. Denmark Eriksen entered the pitch with the start of the second half. The stadium, which had been quiet for a moment, was filled with powerful applause and shouts. Dutch national football team coach Luis van Gaal also applauded.

In just two minutes, Eriksen scored in his return to the Danish national team. Eriksen cut the upper left corner of the net with a right-footed non-stop shot from a ground cross placed by Andreas Skop Olsen from the right flank. Eriksen performed an uppercut ceremony with a bright expression.

Although the match was lost, Eriksen was called the ‘miracle man’. The British public broadcaster, the BBC, described it as “the perfect return of Eriksen”. After the game, Eriksen said, “I was happy that the ball came to me and it was a great finish. “It’s perfect to start a match-A comeback like this,” he said.

Eriksen collapsed from a heart attack during the group stage of the European Championship (Euro) with Finland in June of last year, and then returned to the field after undergoing a defibrillator implantation operation. Eriksen signed a six-month short-term contract with Brentford in the English Premier League (EPL) in January after terminating his contract with Inter Milan (Italy) in Serie A, an Italian professional football team, due to a rule that prevented him from playing with a defibrillator.

The Johan Cruyff Arena, where Eriksen played his comeback, is the home stadium of Ajax. Ajax is the club where Eriksen entered the professional stage. Eriksen will face Serbia on the 30th at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen. Parken Stadium is where Eriksen’s Euro 2020 match against Finland was held.
