Eriksen’s return to Parkinson’s Stadium, which collapsed that day; Shining with goal | Eriksen

Amsterdam ∙ Danish star Christian Eriksen has found the back of the net for the first time in his life and now on his return to football. Eriksen, who came on as a substitute in the 46th minute of a friendly against the Netherlands the previous day, has been named captain of the Danish team again. In the friendly match against Serbia, Denmark won by three goals to one. Eriksen scored in the 57th minute.

Eriksson, who returned from a year’s absence from football, returned to the Parken Stadium this season as captain and goalkeeper, much to the dismay of all. The player scored a goal in the last match against the Netherlands but the match was at their plate. The match was lost to Denmark 2–4.

Eriksson had to retire from football after suffering a heart attack during the Euro Cup match against Finland in June last year. Eriksson later returned to football with a cardioverter defibrillator attached to his body that facilitated the functioning of the heart. His return to club football was with the English club Brentford team last month.

Italy, who failed to qualify for the World Cup last night, beat Turkey in their first match on the field since then. Italy won by three goals to two.

In other matches, France beat South Africa (5–0), Spain beat Iceland (5–0), Belgium beat Burkina Faso (3–0), Norway beat Armenia (9–0), England beat Ivory Coast (3–0) and Hungary beat Northern Ireland. Australia – Scotland (2–2), Germany – Holland (1–1) and Wales – Czech Republic (1–1).
