Establishment of ‘Big Data Platform’ for SMEs | Seoul Newspaper

Data on SMEs owned by the government are gathered in one place. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups held a ‘Small and Medium Business Policy Council’ at the government complex in Sejong on the 31st and decided to build and utilize a ‘big data platform’ for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The platform is a system that can integrate and manage various data dispersed by department. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to establish an automatic linkage system to share data related to SMEs managed by each ministry. In addition, revision of the Basic Law on Small and Medium Enterprises will be promoted to expand data collection items for each department.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups also decided to develop an ‘artificial intelligence (AI) assistant robot’ that subdivides and manages information for each support field, such as finance and human resources, and recommends the best support project to each company.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups also announced a plan to improve the evaluation system for ‘Small and Medium Business Support Projects’ at the deliberation meeting on the same day. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to expand the evaluation target to all SMEs participating in government-supported projects, and reorganize the evaluation index to suit the characteristics of the company.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups reviewed 134 SME-related support projects that each ministry intends to promote.
