London: Following in the footsteps of Champions League football, the Europa League has begun. On the first day, the leading teams got mixed results with wins, losses and draws. Leicester City, considered one of the strongest nations in Europe this season, clashed with Napoli in the first leg. Meanwhile, West Ham, another team in the Premier League, started the tournament with a win.
Lester is set to face Italian giants Napoli. Both teams scored two goals each. Lester took the lead in the 9th minute through Ioze Perez. Harvey Bones took the lead in the 64th minute of the second half. However, Napoli equalized in the 69th and 87th minutes when Victor Ozimhen scored.
West Ham beat Croatian club Dynamo Zagreb by two unanswered goals. West Ham took the lead in the 21st minute through Mikhail Antonio and secured the victory in the 50th minute through Declan Rice. West Ham are top of Group H. Leicester are second in Group C behind Liga Warsaw.
