The European Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended a COVID-19 booster shot for all adults over the age of 18.
ECDC Director Andrea Amon said that he recommended that people over 40 be vaccinated first, providing evidence that additional doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and booster shots can increase the effectiveness of infection prevention when immunity is reduced.
The ECDC also warned that large differences in vaccination rates in each country create an immunity gap and leave room for the spread of COVID-19.
