There were also complaints related to insurance claims. In one online community, a member said, “The Ministry of Health and Welfare acknowledged the center, so each insurance company charged a daily insurance fee, but home treatment was not allowed. One voice from experts, “It was rushed”

Infectious disease experts are raising concerns about the expansion of home treatment.

Cheon Eun-mi, a professor of respiratory medicine at Ewha Womans University Mok-dong Hospital, suggested, “Home treatment should be limitedly carried out. As in the past, it is aimed at single or double-person households or those under the age of 50 without symptoms. Therefore, the age of (home treatment) should be limited to asymptomatic patients under the age of 50. If you are over 50, you should at least enter a living treatment center to prevent worsening of symptoms even if you have no symptoms.”

Jeong Jae-hoon, professor of preventive medicine at Gachon University, said, “Home treatment is a part that must be carried out for coexistence with COVID-19 from a long-term perspective, but the change must be gentle and well-prepared for the public to accept.” “I think there is a problem with the transition from a poor and insufficient bed,” he said.

“If the expansion of home treatment is an unavoidable way, it is necessary to sufficiently prepare more monitoring, financial standards, and management systems.”

Choi Jae-wook, a professor of preventive medicine at Korea University, said, “The biggest problem is that in the process of home treatment, the person who lives with you does not have infection prevention or infection protection measures for the family. There are many legal, ethical, and moral problems that have been passed on to everyone,” he pointed out.
