Yoon Yeo-jeong, who became the first Korean actress to receive the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in the movie ‘Minari’ last year, took on the award for Best Supporting Actor in accordance with the academy’s convention in which the previous year’s winners change only gender and award the same category.

Kieran Heinz for ‘Belfast’, Troy Coacher for ‘Coda’, JK Simmons for ‘Living with the Ricardo Family’, Jesse Plemons for ‘The Power of Dogs’ and Cody Smit-McPhee were nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

After introducing the nominees for the Best Supporting Actor award, Yoon Yeo-jeong called the Trojan Coach of the movie ‘Coda’ as the winner. He announced the sign language award for her deaf coach. She later held her trophy by her side so that Kocher could share her feelings in her sign language. She even congratulated her coach in sign language.

Meanwhile, Yeo-jeong Yoon walked on the red carpet wearing a black dress that day. A blue ribbon was attached to her right chest. The words “#With Refugees” were written on this ribbon.
